Sharifah Amani amazed by Limkokwing University
February 27th, 2008
Sharifah Amani was in Limkokwing University of Creative Technology recently to shoot upcoming romantic comedy drama for TV3 after her success in Emil Emilda last year. This forthcoming tele-drama is called “Sindarella” and Amani will be playing the lead role as Sinda.
Sinda is a happy-going cute girl in the drama. She is tomboyish, brave and discourteous. On the other hand, she is very kind and soft-hearted. The story emphasizes on her transformation from a tomboy to a feminine woman and the love story between her and another leading role, Nazlee, which is played by Zulhuzaimi.
Amani astonished by the environment and Film & Television Academy
Having never been to Limkokwing University, Amani was impressed with the business units such as Headlines, Wings Café and One World Club.
“A lot of fun, a lot of places to go, a lot of things to see. Really futuristic. It’s a very nice ambience,” says Amani.
Amani mentioned that it is good to have a university like Limkokwing where more people can study films and arts in a more beneficial way and believe that the Film & Television Academy can help young filmmakers in local arena.
“We are so lucky, compared to those days. The universities are giving us a chance to express ourselves through our own way,” she says further.
“The thing is film making is about funding. We never have enough money. So, even after students graduate, they can get help from school to make their own feature, drama or music video”.
She later provided some advice for Limkokwing students in the film and television faculty. “Have the right intention, have the right goal. We need people to make our industry better. We need people to make our industry cooler, better, and more international. You have to know why you are doing it, and you’ll last longer. If you are in it for the glam, you’ll fade out fast.”
“It’s us now, this is our time. We will make Malaysia proud.”
Amani is also looking forward to work with the Limkokwing Film & Television Academy. “I don’t mind working with (the academy). Limkokwing, Sharifah Amani! We can go international!”
